Peace20 Overview

Peace20 (P20) is a global peace initiative founded by Prince KPAA Dr. Damien Dematra, widely known around the world as the Prince of Peace, together with Princess Cheryl Halpern, and later continued internationally by Princess Natasha Dematra. Established to support the G20 process through the universal values of peace, culture, humanity, and youth engagement, Peace20 serves as an international platform where dialogue, creativity, and collaboration become instruments for building a more peaceful world.

Peace20 was first launched on 1–2 November 2022 in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia, during Indonesia’s G20 Presidency under the theme “From Indonesia to the World.” The inaugural Peace International Summit brought together governments, diplomats, international organizations, religious leaders, artists, educators, and thousands of young people who shared a common vision of promoting peace, tolerance, and sustainable development.

As part of its historic launch, Peace20 established the World’s Thickest Book with Messages of Peace, containing 25,555 signatures from participants representing 53 countries across more than 5,200 pages. The initiative received a world record and became a powerful symbol of humanity’s collective commitment to peace.

Peace20 believes that peace is built not only through diplomacy, but also through education, culture, dialogue, and the active participation of young people. Guided by the universal principle of the Golden Rule treating others as we wish to be treated the movement promotes mutual respect across religions, cultures, nationalities, and backgrounds while embracing Indonesia’s spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity).

Since its inception, Peace20 has continued its international journey across G20 host nations while inspiring young people to think about peace, embrace diversity, and become active agents of positive change.

In 2023, Peace20 was held in Kochi, Kerala, India, in support of India’s G20 Presidency. Organized in collaboration with the United Nations, the summit gathered thousands of young participants alongside United Nations officials, government representatives, international experts, and global leaders to advance the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those relating to peace, justice, and strong institutions.

In 2024, Peace20 expanded to Brazil, where thousands of young people from Indonesia and Brazil united to celebrate peace, cultural understanding, and global friendship, strengthening international solidarity through youth-led peace initiatives.

In 2025, Peace20 continued its international mission in South Africa, supported by the Embassy of South Africa, alongside the country’s G20 Presidency. During the same year, the spirit of Peace20 was also celebrated across Indonesia, where young people participated in peace activities and campaigns, reaffirming their commitment to dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

Since its establishment, Peace20 has inspired thousands of young people around the world to reflect on the importance of peace and to become ambassadors of harmony within their own communities. Through international summits, youth forums, cultural exchanges, artistic collaborations, educational programs, and peace pledges, the movement continues to empower the next generation to choose understanding over prejudice, dialogue over division, and cooperation over conflict.

Even after the passing of its founder, Prince KPAA Dr. Damien Dematra, Peace20 continues to grow as one of his enduring legacies. Inspired by his lifelong vision of peace, the movement remains committed to building bridges across cultures, religions, and nations, ensuring that every new generation has the opportunity to become a force for dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

Today, Peace20 stands as more than a conference it is a global movement dedicated to inspiring future generations to build a world where peace is celebrated, diversity is embraced, and humanity lives together in harmony. Guided by the belief that lasting peace begins with each individual, Peace20 continues to carry forward its mission from Indonesia to the world.
